Are alba electronics any good?

As i remember Alba from my TV engineering days, they were lower priced sets which used mainly the Thorn chis. (As did Fergusson). Their products are sold under various names including including Goodmans and Hinari, and they are former owners of the German company Grundig and turkish Beko. Argos are the new owners. Despite low cost, Alba have always produced stable products.
