As a spiritual beginner, how do we control our senses?
Bhakti Yoga)(not any breathing or bending exercises) If one fully engages all of their senses in the loving devotional service of the Lord, all of their senses are perfectly controlled. It is not a mechanical process as other yoga's are. Bhakti Yoga or devotional service is natural and joyfully performed. It is done in practice but yet it is also what we do in the eternal kingdom of God as well. So it is the constitutional position of the Soul, to always be engaged in the loving service of God. If we do all of our cooking for Him We also shop for him and then eat the remnants offered to Him then always chant His name our tongue is perfectly controlled as is the belly. AS well as the ears always hearing His name and p times. When we see the beautiful form of the Lord our eyes are engaged and our mind always thinking of Him the mind is controlled and the hands always serving Him the touch is controlled. When we smell the incense and flowers offered to the lord our smelling sense is perfectly controlled. In this way all of our being becomes on the Transcendental Platform. Thinking feeling and willing to always serve and please the Lords Pure Transcendental Senses. Then ours are automatically controlled and satisfied. (we then become ecstatic.) Nectar of Instruction by bhaktivedanta Prabhupada tells the details. Totally joyful bliss is the service of the Supreme Lord Whom I call Krishna and others by a different name.
